Currently we are raising support to build a second classroom in the Virrey Del Pino, Argentina schoolhouse.
Project: Schoolhouse and Micro-loan Expansion
Virrey del Pino, Buenos Aires, Argentina
In the summer of 2010 we were able to raise enough money to build a large, one room schoolhouse and since then it has served hundreds of children and adults in the community, acting as a school and business center. Among other things, it has been used for village meetings, as a medical clinic, refuge from the heat (it is the only building in the village with air conditioning), housing for visitors and volunteers, and main area for festivities.
We are currently raising funds and support to build a second classroom for the school. It has turned into a very important and essential edifice for the community and expanding it will allow them more flexibility and better usage. Due to the large range of ages and knowledge of the children, are hopes are to be able to hire another teacher so that two classes can be conducted simultaneously.
We will also be teaming up with One for One Foundation co-founder David Tari in Mozambique, Africa to help fund micro-ventures in the communities he is working with. Tari has identified a group of people in Mozambique that we will be reaching out to in the near future.
